The two essentials of Turkish exports are beige and grey. And in Afyon and Burdur, they are produced at the quarries of two companies working in partnership. From the collaboration of these two companies, a 5 thousand m2-factory, equipped with cutting-edge technology, emerges. And as a result, they contribute to the Turkish economy exporting both blocks and cut-to-size products despite the current pandemic conditions.
Let’s get into details. Kanyon Group is the manufacturer of the Burdur Beige that is quite popular in the Chinese market and known as “Baiyulan.” And Maya Grey, which is one of the exclusive grey stones of Turkey, is extracted by EPA Marble at the quarry in Sandıklı, Afyon. Ahmet Öztürk, a partner at both the companies said, “Thanks to the high quality of our beige and grey stones, they are sought-after despite the current conditions. We maintain our export score.”
Coming into prominence especially in the last three years, these two stones are cut to size by Marser Sesemar in Bucak, Burdur, which was also founded through these two companies’ partnership. Kemal İlgün, a company partner, stated that they processed their own stones at the factory in their highest quality.
