Pusula Marble is one of the leading firms in Turkey in block export. Serving the sector selecting and exporting the most special blocks from all parts of Turkey, the Diyarbakır-based firm proved its success at İMİB’s Export Champions awarding ceremony. Ranking as the 6th top block exporter in 2019, Pusula Marble climbed up the steps, taking the 4th position. And now, the firm takes pride in opening a completely new page. Having served the sector as a trader so far, Pusula Marble now starts manufacturing.
Opening a new grey quarry in Mersin, Erdemli in partnership with its newly-founded sister company Hermes Marble, the firm will export its own blocks from now on. Etkin Cihangiroğlu, the board chairman of Pusula Marble, stated that they called this new grey stone, which is extracted in Erdemli, İlon Grey and it achieved a strong presence in the sector in a short time. Cihangiroğlu said, “İlon Grey is a candidate to making a total difference in modern architectural designs featuring the most sophisticated state of grey.”
Stating that İlon Grey is unlike any stone extracted in Turkey in the recent period, Cihangiroğlu said, “Our stone is unique within our country’s borders. It will provide a spectacular appearance to marble appliances in structures. The fact that it’s suitable for all kinds of surface applications is a big advantage. Its superiority in durability won’t only be felt by block buyers, but also the end-users. We take pride in the interest our new stone has gathered. We are well aware of how important our stone is, and we are determined to apply the right marketing strategy for it to be appreciated in the global market.”
Etkin Cihangiroğlu informs us that Hermes Marble, which they founded in partnership with Serdar Aydın, will continue in the production operations, whereas Pusula Marble will have important targets in export, and continues: “We have analyzed the sector’s demands well and embraced qualified service to our customers as the main principle. The trust we have earned thanks to our approach is highly valuable for us. We had achieved 6th place in 2019, and 4th place in 2020 at İMİB’s export awarding ceremony. We have set new targets for this year. We aim at concluding the year 2021 as one of the top 3 block marble exporters of the sector.”
