Sesemar has been operating in the organized industrial district of Afyon since 2003. Starting its production with the Light Travertine Quarry in Denizli, the company opened also its Light Beige Quarry in Burdur. Exporting stones from its beige and travertine quarries both as blocks and processed cut-to-size stones, Sesemar has been investing in white marble for the last 2 years. The company stepped into the dolomite market with its new quarry in Yaykın, Aydın two years ago and at the end of 2020 made another quarry investment in Yılanlı, Muğla.
Increasing its quarry investments and renewing the production technologies at its factories despite the global pandemic crisis, Sesemar now produces 5 different selections of white marble at its new quarry in Muğla. Stating that the new stones are called Pietro Biancı, Pietra Arabosco, Pietra Cielo Blu, Pietra Bianco Cielo, and Nube Bianco, Sesemar Board Chairman Engin Gökdemir said, “We are launching a potential rival to the famous Italian stone Calacatta. It has the same character and quality. We believe that we have serious export potential to the USA, Europe, and the Middle Eastern markets. We’ve just started however we are making preparations with confidence.”
