Turkish touch in Erbil: Erbil Hills

Adalya’s two special products Limestone and Lucca, 12 different Turkish stones came together with the mastery of Teknotaş, resulting in a wonderful prestige project.

Natural stone has been the symbol of luxury and splendour for centuries. It has always been preferred in magnificent buildings and its name has always been associated with quality. Today, the situation is not very different. Wherever there is a big project, we come across equally big natural stone applications. Just like in Erbil Hills, the prestige project of Erbil, one of the most important cities of Iraq. 12 different natural stones adorn the exterior coverings of the project, which has the signature of a Turkish company: Teknotaş Viani Mining.

Shaped with motifs inspired by Mesopotamian works and ancient Iraqi architecture, the project includes 40 ultra-luxury villas, Erbil Golf Club, markets, cafes and restaurants, banks, sports and life centres, parks and green areas. Teknotaş, which has successfully carried out natural stone applications in many parts of the world, has also demonstrated its mastery in Erbil Hills. The company, which undertook the exterior coverings of the luxury villas in the project, made approximately 100 thousand square metres of facade cladding, while 9 thousand tonnes of solid processed stone were sent to Erbil.

In Erbil Hills, Teknotaş preferred Adalya Marble’s world-famous stones Adalya Limestone and Adalya Lucca, as well as Eflani Green (Has Çakmak), Moca Grey (Leonardo), Light Travertine (Çakmak), Noce Travertine, Cohiba Dolomite, Vratsa (Bulgaria), Limra (Portugal), Ataija Azul (Portugal), Sinai Pearl (Egypt) and Sinai Grey (Egypt). CNC applications and cutting of natural stones were undertaken by Natur Stone, Gölgesiz Marble, Cantaş, Biev, Selim Kılıç Marble, Yeditepe, Öztürkler Marble and Dekorota. And at the end of these works, elegant and magnificent villas emerged.

Alparslan Özarslan, General Manager of Teknotaş Viani Mining, said: “We are happy to come pulling off a giant project again with great success. We used 12 types of stones in the works that have been going on for about 1 year. When the project is completed, approximately 350 trucks of processed natural stone will be shipped to Erbil. Currently five architects, one civil engineer, one survey engineer, one surveying engineer, one surveying technician, two construction technicians and around 150 Turkish and local installers are working in the Erbil project. Facade anchorage materials, rock wool, approximately 300 tonnes of secondary steel infrastructure materials, Tyvek and adhesives were all sent from Turkey. We purchased the mechanical coating infrastructure from Duhok Alco Aluminium.”
