This is the story of a statue… as deep as it can be… the story of a tiny heart’s unfinished dreams, and a father’s determination to realize the dream of his lost son. It is as moving as it can possibly be… because this statue is more than just a sculpture. Let us tell you the story. Baran Emir Gedik was the son of Bayram Ali Gedik, a partner at 2B Stone. At the age of 4.5, Baran was diagnosed with a spinal tumor. The doctors’ words pierced the heart like arrows: surviving beyond the age of 7 would be very difficult. His father, Bayram Ali Gedik, cherished him and did everything possible for his treatment. Baran lived until the age of 12. But his small body could not withstand more. What remained was sorrow, tears, and an unfulfilled dream: Baran’s dream.

EXHIBITED AT THE IZMIR MARBLE FAIR
That dream was the İnönü Stadium. Baran, a devoted Beşiktaş fan, once told his father, “Take me to a Beşiktaş match at İnönü Stadium.” But it could not happen… Years later, 2B Stone, owned by Bayram Ali Gedik, opened a marble quarry in Karaman. The exquisite stone extracted was named “Baran Grey.” Over seven years, Baran Grey became a brand, drawing attention from India to Italy, China to the Middle East. The 2025 Izmir Marble Fair became the occasion to bring Baran’s dream to life. At 2B Stone’s stand, a majestic eagle statue carved from Baran Grey was displayed. The statue even caught the attention of the Beşiktaş Club management.

BARAN’S NAME NOW AT İNÖNÜ STADIUM
The club contacted Bayram Ali Gedik, requesting that the statue be placed in a special area of İnönü Stadium. After discussions, the statue was sent and positioned in a section where the club hosts international guests — bearing the inscription: “In memory of Baran Emir Gedik.” Baran’s name now rests where he dreamed. A salute to Baran, and to the fathers who turn their children’s dreams into reality, even if their children are no longer with us.
