As HKA Films, we are proud to take part in the World Architecture Festival (WAF) and introduce our “Land of Stone” project together with Turkish Stones, for which we undertook the brand consultancy. With this project, we aim to bring Turkey’s natural stone richness and cultural heritage to the world stage and to bring the values of our country to a wider audience in the international arena.
The “Land of Stone” project, which we developed with the support of Turquality, was an important step to introduce Turkey’s natural stones to the world as a symbol of a heritage that makes you feel the beauty, durability and rich history of Turkey’s natural stones at every touch. The intense interest shown to our stand at the festival once again demonstrated how great an impact not only our stones, but also Turkey’s unique cultural heritage has on the architectural world.
It was a great honour for us to stand out with our stand designs in this journey. My team and I have carefully considered every detail that reflects the spirit of the Turkish Stones brand and we are thrilled to showcase our efforts in this creative process on the international stage. Our stand was designed to reflect the richness and aesthetics of Turkey’s natural stone to the visitors in the best possible way and we are happy to see that all our efforts have paid off with the attention it has received.
Especially on the second day, the cocktail event we organised at our stand attracted great interest. It was a great pleasure for us to be the occasion for local and foreign architects to come together and meet. The presence and support of our Ambassador to Singapore, Mr. Mehmet Burçin Gönenli’s presence and support was also very valuable for us. After the festival, he hosted the Turkish Stones team at his residence and once again showed his interest and support for our project.
In the category competitions organised in tents in the fair area, our tent attracted the most attention. The 7 finalists competing in the “Best Use of Stone” category had the chance to present their projects to a crowded audience and the jury deemed the “Oh Ho” project worthy of an award. Interviews and panels, one of the important parts of the festival, also attracted a lot of attention. In addition, the presentations of Emre Arolat, the super jury, were highly appreciated by the participants.
During the festival, it was a special experience for us to document the events and photograph every moment. In every frame, we had the opportunity to immortalise these important moments and our commitment to the project. Now, we are excitedly dreaming about our next stop, WAF in Miami, and we are looking forward to taking our “Land of Stone” project to a whole new geography and sharing the magic of Turkish stones there as well.
