Strong winds are blowing in the natural stone sector. However, there are some stones that have defiantly maintained their popularity and value over the years. One of these is Pasha Black… This elegant black is mined from SMM Mining’s Karaman Quarry. Recently exported as blocks to India and as slabs to the European and Arab markets, Pasha Black, together with Pasha Grey, makes SMM smile.
Lütfi Kaya, SMM Mining official, cites the right marketing logic as the reason for the unchanging popularity of Pasha Black. Kaya said, “We see that the market has been stagnant recently. However, we have never based our production logic on periodic fluctuations. We preferred to protect the value of our stone with controlled production even in periods of peak demand, and we see that the process justified us. Our biggest advantage is that Pasha Black can be used in many different areas with different production styles.”
Underlining that Grey Karaman, like Pasha Black, has also gained a healthy place in the market, Kaya continues as follows: “We started the production of Grey Karaman in 2021. We introduced our stone to the market in the last two years of Izmir Marble and we see that we are gradually coming to a good point. Our goal is for Grey Karaman, like Pasha Black, to be permanent in the market in a long-term and value-preserving way.”
