They came.
With their assistants, consultors, bureaucrats, bodyguards and men in suits.
Everybody stood up.
They were called to the lector.
Everybody stood up again.
They went there and told that in 2021 Turkey had broken the republic’s mine exporting record, achieving an increase that is 10 times higher and they told that they were in close contact with the mining sector. Then they left the lector.
Everybody stood up again.

Then they started listening to the sector’s problems. They were told that there was no license assurance, the value-added tax had to be decreased, Turkey’s forestry costs were 7 times higher than the closest neighboring country, and that the number of licenses issued which were 36 thousand in 2008 decreased to 5 thousand in 2021.
That the sector had broken a record despite all that!
And that the sector needed 4 crucial things to increase exports even more in 2022:
1- License assurance
2- High forestry permit expenses should be decreased to a reasonable level
3-All processes should be easier and faster
4-A revision of taxes due to increasing energy costs (Fuel and electricity)

They listened to it all. But did they really hear?
Something’s going to change?
Someone’s going to say “These guys are breaking records even under these conditions. Let’s help them?”
We shall wait and see.
Talking about records, taking pride in success stories and being appreciated for these achievements is good.
But let it be known that those who don’t contribute to the process can’t share the positive outcomes.
