One of the projects that brings pride to the Turkish natural stone sector… The National Bank of Kazakhstan… This magnificent project, adorned with limestone bearing Haz Mermer’s signature, captivates with both its elegance and its details. The Kazakhstan National Bank Project, located in Astana, has been realized as one of the iconic project of contemporary architecture in the region. The architectural design, created by Zaha Hadid Architects, known worldwide as the “queen of curves” and 2004 Pritzker Prize winners, stands out with its its fluid geometry and powerful spatial composition.

BOTH INDOOR AND OUTDOOR
The natural stone applications of the project were executed by Haz Marble; natural stone was used as a fundamental material supporting architectural integrity on both interior and exterior surfaces, as well as within the surrounding landscape and outdoor areas. This approach, which combines durability, simplicity, and timeless aesthetics in corporate architecture, completes building’s strong architectural identity.

FROM DEMRE TO WORLD
The Limra limestone used in the project was extracted from Haz Mermer’s own quarry in Demre, Antalya; then they were subsequently processed with high precision in accordance with the factory’s technical infrastructure and quality standards. The complex and free-form architectural language of Zaha Hadid Architects represents an approach that requires not only aesthetic excellence but also advanced technical accuracy, continuity, and material harmony. In this regard, Haz Mermer played an active role in all stages from production to on-site application, ensuring the design vision was fully and accurately realized.

HAZ METAL CONTRIBUTION
In the project, Haz Limestone Classic, one of Haz Marble’s signature natural stones, was applied across a total of 35,000 m2 of dimensioned cladding and 31,000 linear meters of fluted column cladding, in both interior and exterior spaces. the stone panels, were integrated into the glass facade system, create a refined and balanced facade expression between transparency and solidity, forming a strong sheel that reinforces the building’s fluid architectural character while maintaining a sense of lightness. The fixing systems for the stone cladding were specially designed and implemented by Haz Metal to harmonize with the glass facade architecture. The design, production, and installation processes under a single organizational structure provided significant technical and architectural advantages for a project of this scale and complexity, and played a critical role in preserving both the facade design and the original architectural intent.

SIMPLE AND POWERFULL
Limestone surcafes were selected with Astana’s harsh and highly variable climatic conditions demonstrate high resistance to freeze–thaw cycles, extreme temperature differences, and environmental factors, ensuring long-term performance and durability. The simple and powerful character of natural stone establishes a balanced contrast with the modern glass facade architectural, giving the building with a prestigious and timeless architectural identity. This project clearly demonstrates Haz Marble’s expertise in integrating natural stone with advanced façade systems and its capability to contribute to large-scale, complex international architectural projects. Through the Kazakhstan National Bank Project, Haz Marble continues to strategically and sustainably expand its global portfolio by strengthening its international references. We have to tip our hats to this achievement.
