A world of onyx: Ivme Marble Showroom

The world is facing a huge crisis. Our health is threatened by a virus that cannot be seen by our eyes, and we may have to face it at any moment. The epidemic is out there in the streets spreading fear, panic, and obscurity. And of course, this situation inevitably has an effect on the economy. All the world is looking for a solution to the economic regression, which is no different for the natural stone sector. The fact that China, one of the biggest two customers in the industry, is where the epidemic broke out, and the United States stands out as the country getting the worst blow, explains it all. However, some companies continue investing despite the outbreak, turning crises into opportunities. And Ivme Marble is one of them.

The new showroom of the company opened in Torbali catches your eye at first sight. Eight columns made of onyx make you feel as if you’re entering into a temple. As we take our first step, we get astonished by the five-meter bookmatch made of White Bubble Onyx that stands on our right. The ground floor is sure to be adored by all onyx lovers. We turn left, passing through the onyx columns and see three different sections. There’s a well-designed saloon to the left. A fireplace and a big-screen tv are placed in the wall made of Lifora onyx. The coffee table placed between the two leather arm-chairs completes the design.

We see a mini bar in the middle. White Bubble Onyx is at the forefront with an elegant bookmatch at the center of the bar. The bookmatch and the table of the bar glitter thanks to the lighting in the background. An impressive harmony is achieved through the simplicity of a single stone and partial lighting. The last section of the ground floor that is to be designed as a bathroom is a work in progress. Grey Onyx lies on the floor of the showroom. The clocks adorning the walls are also made of onyx.

We turn our eyes to the other side and see a surprise. We notice the lines of “Biolytic Design,” defined as “Healing Architecture,” formed by bringing nature and green to interior spaces. The three palm trees placed on the ground of the showroom extend to the second floor. They provide a spectacular atmosphere with another White Bubble bookmatch behind them. The fresh ambiance of green is also noticed on the walls next to the stairs. Breath-taking products of Ivme Marble placed in a lush green wall salute us. We go upstairs on the stairs made of onyx.

There’s a green wall adorned by artificial plants right at the entrance of the second floor. Grey Onyx lies on the ground of this floor, in which the management offices are located. Light reflections through onyx applications between the wooden columns provide a breath-taking view. The slab storage of the showroom is quite plain, elegant, and well-organized. Products brought from Ivme Marble’s two quarries in Koprubasi are exhibited to visitors in all their beauty.

Stepping into the office of Savaş Pervanlar, the general director of Ivme Marble, who said nearly two years ago that they would build one of Turkey’s biggest showrooms in Torbali, we congratulate him. This vast construction built on an area of 11.000 square meters has an indoor area of 4000 square meters and it has three sections. The showroom and the slab storage are currently operating in all their glory and are visited by clients. And the preparations continue for the slab processing factory. Early negotiations have been made for the factory that is to be fully-equipped with Italian technology, and the machinery has been selected. The factory, which will have an indoor area of 4500 square meters, is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2021. By doing so, they will have an indoor area of 8500 square meters.

We asked our questions about this vast investment to Savaş Pervanlar, the general director of Ivme Marble. We started with the expenses made. Realizing such an investment in such a crisis is not a piece of cake, as you imagine. Stating that they invested 15,000,000 TL to the project with the construction area included, Pervanlar said, “This amount will reach 30,000,000 TL with the investments we’ll make for the factory and the machinery we’ll purchase. We’ll process and exhibit our stones here. Some of the most exquisite and boutique stones of Turkey can be found in our slab storage. We also display stones exported from China, Italy, and Brazil to our customers.”

Pervanlar revealed his ultimate goal for the showroom in Torbali in the end: “This is a natural stone showcase. I don’t think that any other company in Turkey has such an onyx collection. We want our showroom to be the first place to come to architects’ minds when they think about onyx. It is going to be a natural stone showcase. Visitors will be able to find the best and unique products that they look for. The next month, we’ll have a total of 10/11.000 square meters of slabs in our storage. We’ll gradually increase this amount. Our onyx and Temiros quarries in Koprubasi continue their operations. We’re awaiting forestry licenses for our quarry in Denizli.”
