Imagine a much larger mosque that bears the traces of the Ortaköy Mosque, which is located on the European side of the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul and has a special place with its architecture and location.
Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani Mosque, designed by Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu, one of the world-renowned Turkish architects, and inaugurated last year on Pearl Island in Doha, the capital of Qatar, is the work you have been dreaming of.
It is named after a member of the Royal Family who served as Prime Minister between 2007 and 2013. If you ask who “gave life” to the magnificent mosque where this dream became a reality, of course Haz Marble, which has realized numerous prestigious projects in the Gulf countries.
Spread over a total area of 28,000 square meters with a construction area of about 21,000 square meters, this remarkable mosque is the first mosque in the country to adopt the new Baroque architectural design style. Its majestic 48-meter high dome and 64-meter high minaret add a breathtaking element to this architectural wonder.
So where does this impeccable charm come from? Let us tell you that right away. It’s Haz Limestone Classic, produced by Haz Marble in its quarry in Demre.
Approximately 36 thousand square meters of Haz Limestone Classic was applied on the entire facade of Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani Mosque and all natural stone workmanship. During the installation phase, Haz Metal’s facade cladding fixing systems (anchors), which have an important place in the construction sector, were used. In other words, this magnificent mosque has the Haz stamp everywhere, from the production of the stone in the quarry to its processing in the factory, from its application to the facade cladding fixing systems.
The mosque, where approximately 3 thousand people can worship, has the same splendor inside as it does outside. Access to the mosque is facilitated by escalators and elevators, and all interior applications, toilets and ablution rooms are also furnished with stones produced from various regions of Turkey.
Like the Ortaköy Mosque in Istanbul, the splendor of the Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani Mosque adds to the touristic appeal of Doha. While the mosque has become one of the most remarkable Islamic monuments of the region, which must be visited, Haz Marble is a source of pride for our country with the value it adds.
