Having such an intensive sea of marbles, Turkey has problems about promotion. I’m not talking about foreigners. Turkish stones are more famous abroad than they are in here. Only problem in Turkey is about comprehending the value of her marble…
İMİB made a nice promotion with the motto, ‘’I am Turkish Stone’’ at MIPIM Fair in which many real estate and architecture firms participated. Having models wear dresses with marble patterns on them, like they did in Cannes Fashion Week last year, wouldn’t work out well obviously. New management targeted the right audience this time and did a right job…
As I said; It’s our architects, contractors and directors who don’t know Turkish marble. We could even call them ‘’the ones who prefer not to know the stones.’’
Otherwise, there’s no other way of explaining the biggest airport of America being covered with Turkish marble while Turkey, who is constructing the biggest airport of the world in Istanbul, prefers Brazilian marble.
I see Turkish Natural Stone Sector has put up with it too…

Brazilian Natural Stone Exporters’ Association should hire a panel in the Istanbul Airport, which is being constructed, and write ‘’I am Brazilian Stone’’ Could there be a better promotion than this in a place where millions of people pass by in a month?
